Respond to Emilio

Dear EmilioB_6,

I was interested on your comment about “The Accident” by Erica Funkhouser. You do make good point about “a woman who normally isn’t home during the day, but decides to stay home this particular day only to discover that her husband normally makes breakfast for their neighbor. I think the neighbor is lying when she says that her son was hit by her car and was only covering up why she came into the house “randomly””. I just have to question it. Where is the evidence?

Biography of Norbert Bisky

Norbert Bisky was born in the year of 1970 in Leipzig, Germany. (Allsop “Boy will be Boys”) Celebrating the Berlin wall 30th anniversary; being broken down left with enduring impressions of Socialist propaganda. (Bernard “Norbert Bisky”) Bisky from that moment on that he should be an artist, for that moment he believes he doesn’t want to do that for all of his life. (Bernard “Norbert Bisky”) Bisky went on a field trip to Madrid, Spain from his art classes. From then on he has seen Germany from a different view. He seen things that he hasn’t been able to see. (Bernard “Norbert Bisky”) He now knows more stereotypically things about Germany that he had never heard from. (Bernard “Norbert Bisky”) Ironically all of his painting has been a reflection of his childhood, in how socialist propaganda worked. All of his models are called David, since his art school he was only been able to work one model and from then on Bisky can just draw that model and make new things off that. (Blomberg “Rückzug der Ikonen.”) In truth to get different facial ideas Bisky work on real models and he works on ten painting or so he usually get back to them in a later time, but doing ten at a time just to keep himself busy. Bisky can work for a long time on a painting and still feel it is never finished. (Wright 77) He actually enjoys a painting when it is not finished. (Wright 77) He thinks it has more of a deeper meaning then the ones that are actually done. (Wiensoki “Im Wohnmobil zum Stadion.”) Bisky can also work for a painting for a long time and just throw it out without and regrets. (Comis “Tema Celeste”) The beginning of the month he might love, but by the end he just hates it. (Comis “Tema Celeste”) He doesn’t care what the public thinks. (Desert “The Case Norbert Bisky.”) He likes the attention of that his artwork was a controversy on Germany. (Henry “Norbert Bisky of Leo Koenig.”) He even stated that it is quite enjoy hearing what the people say. (Desert “The Case Norbert Bisky.”)Most of his artwork shows blonde hair and blue eye males. Bisky can draw girls, though he thinks that they look like men. The controversy of his painting is that most people think that he is drawing the Aryan race and he is being called a Nazi, since he is from Germany so many people have been complaining. (Vega “Un pasado convulso, un presente arrebatador.”) Other people think that he is drawing more of Stalin era then Germany’s Nazi era. (Peterson “Norbert Bisky of Leo Koenig.”) He has also pictures of men having sex with other men. He just makes fun of anything and really doesn’t care. Often times Bisky get to have an offer to drawn someone and he does but usually doesn’t finish within that time he usually finishes two to three years later. Being thirty-three years old, Bisky is making his name for himself in Europe. Not in the U.S. as much. (Peterson “Norbert Bisky of Leo Koenig.”)
His painting represents Freedom and how it can be express in art form. He shows anything to homosexual to Nazism in his paintings. He has the ability to make people question about, it exactly what he wants even though he considers every painting he has to be unfinished. To one exhibit he have has painting “David” next year “David might be change even more then what the original had. “I really believe in freedom.”(Wright 81)
The painting Aquageddon by Norbert Bisky, send a powerful picture of freedom. There are fourteen people in this painting. It shows one person being crucified which shows the symbol of religion but in the far corner there is someone hanged. What is Bisky trying to say? Free to draw anything, Bisky holds the power to make images that contradict one another. There is a gay couple in the left corner of the picture which is really ironic because Catholics do not approve of homosexual yet; it is shown. The man being stabbed by the telephone pole is holding on; notice how the telephone pole is shape into a cross. Which again shows the ability to show anything on the canvas. There is a girl in the sky that has her arms and legs spread open. It seems that she is free falling or maybe an angel searching for hope. Below the free falling girl, there is a man, but his face is hidden within a bush or a tree, it looks like a bush with socks coming out. The man might be dead and didn't show how his face got torn off. In the middle of the page there are two women standing there blowing into air looks like trying to send a message for help in the hopeless situation they are in.
The man in the sky looks like he may have gotten the signal. The odd thing about the man in the sky is that he is wearing a suit, and everyone the painting is half naked or in their bathing suits. This man is looking at the two girls blowing the message. Below him there is a ruined house, it looks like the house is taking a boy and its like he is in a lot of pain, his leg is up in the air and his face is in agony. There is another boy holding on to his arms trying to get him out.
Underneath the boy that is trying to help there is red water. The red water can be seen as the boy’s blood. Even though it’s hopeless to help the boy that is trapped, the boy is trying his best to get him out. Below the two boys, there is wolf and a bloody head in the water. That bloody head may belong to boy with the bushes and socks. That bloody head is his face torn off. Bisky didn't want to draw the detail of his face being off but he drew parts of it on the water.
The wolf on the right bottom seems misplaced. Apparently it is howling, but there is no moon in this painting there is just dark blue sky. In the middle there’s a bright blue sky. Everything around the wolf is dying or trying to survive, the wolf here is perfectly standing, howling. But the man next to the wolf is the best man in this painting. He has a lot more to talk about. He is the only one with a lot of details, bigger image of any of the boys around here and different just like the suit man. The boy is looking at far distance hold his arm that is somehow injured.
The man’s face shows despite what is happening around him. He's eye are searching for it. His arm may be unusable but that doesn't stop him from looking for Freedom. Everything in the background is horrible. His face is with no emotion just looking the in the distance. Thinking is this going to get any better. Now or later?
The colors of this painting are dark there is no one smiling or having a good time. This picture shows violence, blood, sex, pain, hope, and death. This is all going on at once. But isn't that this life works? Everything going all at once? The way Norbert Bisky shows it was really interesting also the way he painted the image. He uses a lot of white paint there are parts of this panting that are solid white. Almost all of his artwork there is white there.
It makes his painting more light in a weird way. Since this painting is a depression picture. The blue stuff that is in the bottom of the picture is water. A house being destroyed by the blue thing which in this case it’s safe to say its water. The dirty old mattress in the water is worn out seems like it came out of the house in the top left corner. Where the man hung himself. The house seems like it is stained with blood, the roof is just covered with blood. The man that is in the cross is the cause for the blood. Do not understand how that man on the cross isn’t falling down. It does seem that he is nailed down but his feet are just dangling there. The setting seems like it's been taken during the summer time, since most people in their bathing suits. Something must have happened to cause this horrible scenery. The water fountain in the middle must had an expulsion that had this huge water killing people. This flood that is so massive that people are helping each other, being stabbed by a pole, got his face torn off, having sex, hung himself, calling out cries, looking at a distance.

The accident Erica Funkhouser

The poem “The Accident” by Erica Funkhouser theory is the title didn’t really match with the poem because the Husband in the poem did not have an accident. All he did was crack the egg with two hands instead of one. ”A long last he broke the eggs. She had never seen him do it like this before, two-handed.” I’m not sure if it was a metaphor of some kind but it really did confused me.

In a Doll house

People always say that watching a movie is never the same as reading the actually book. In classes today we watched a movie clip of “The Doll house” by Henirk Ibsen. In the book it started off describing a room in full detail. While in the movie they showed a couple of children running around throwing snowballs someone getting a ride home by a horse into a little village. Immediately it shows the difference. In the movie the first thing Nora asked the maid if Torvald is home, you can also tell that Nora is rich by the way the home is set, she having a maid, and her furry red coat. As Nora walked around the house seem very large and you see this Christmas decorations and Christmas tree. In the book Nora was already home she sees porter who is carrying her Christmas tree. Nora didn’t want anyone to see the tree she paid the man for the tree and even ask him to keep the change. Hence that she is rich. But one of the scenes are the same she was eating macaroons hidden-ly but she didn’t hide it she just kept it in her pocket. In the movie she seem to hid it in a piano. And runs merrily to Mr. Helmer. The dialogue in the book is much more words then the actually scene. I feel like they make it very easy to understand the movie then the actually play. They used much more lovey dovey words then anything in the movie. At first Mr. Helmer seems so cold towards Nora but eventually he warmed up to her. Also in the book she got 2 pounds and in the movie she got 40 something. I really don’t know the current they use but apparently it can be in England or Europe. Not sure that country uses pounds but I am pretty sure it is England. A new scene was presented in the movie that was not in the book it was when she showed Torvald the Christmas tree, Torvald was delighted to see this tree. Although thinking that she is rich you would think that her tree would be this huge glamorous thing but apparently it wasn’t it was missing a few more branches and such. It really didn’t look like a tree it look like a tree that cost around $5 a tree that no one wanted. In the book she was much more detailed on the gifts Nora got gifts for the maids and a trumpet for Bob not a rattle as the movie said. She only got gifts for the children and Torvald. At least she was nice enough to buy her husband a gift. With all the money spend she does it doesn’t seem quite fitting that she would buy him a gift. The scene about the money it seem like she had that planned all along she said it with such passion “ You can give me money Torvald” she seem she didn’t mind spending his money at all. She even begs for it “Please Please do!” Torvald doesn’t want to give her money because she would just waste it easily. Nora knowing that Torvald loves her so much the money was easily given to her. I don’t understand why she can’t eat macaroons. She promise him that she wouldn’t eat it in the book and in the movie. But there was much more denial in the book then in the movie. Now that I realized it wasn’t too much that of a difference of the movie and the book. They portray Nora really well, I don’t if anyone notice but to me in the book and in the movie she acts so childish She seems to be younger then Torvald but like twenty years or so. Nora seems like a greedy wife that wants nothing but money! Torvald might realized that maybe she is using him for money. The one part that I found interesting was that Torvald knew Nora dad like best friend or something. He said “Just like your father” was there a marriage that was forced to keep the banking busy open?! I have no idea but that’s what I say about this movie clip and the book.

Norbet Bisky [Aquageddon]
The painting i choose to write about is Aquageddon by Norbert Bisky. Aquageddon send a powerful picture of hope. There is fourteen people in this painting. It shows one person being crucified which shows the symbol of religion but in the far corner there is someone hanged. What is bisky trying to say? that hope is sometimes hopeless. There is a gay couple in the left corner of the picture which is really ironic because Catholics do not approve of homosexual yet it shows in this picture right in the corner. The man being stabbed by the telephone pole is holding on, notice how the telephone pole is shape into a cross. Which again shows hope is something hopeless. There is a girl in the sky that has her arms and legs spread open. She seem that she is free falling or an angel searching for hope. I think that bloody head is with the boy with the bushes and socks. That bloody head is his face torn off. I guess Bisky didn't want to draw the detail of his face being off but he drew parts of it on the water. The wolf on the right bottom corner doesn't make sence to me. Apparently it is howling but why there is no moon in this painting there is just dark blue sky but in the middle it is a bright blue sky. I do not understand how is the dog not drowning or dead. Everything around the dog is dying or trying to survive, the dog here is perfectly standing up howling. But the man next to the dog is the best man in this painting. Hamlet Act 3:1
This is the famous scene that everyone knows about. The “To be or not to be” line was said in act 3 scene 1. Over time people have played Hamlet in various movies, some of them are modern, and other portrays the actual timeline of Hamlet. Most of them are all different then the actually text. Hamlet is trouble with everything that is going on in the world that he wants to commit suicide. He couldn’t the fact that his own mother would marry his father uncle after only a month of his death. He couldn’t handle the fact that his father by own brother killed him. As he was discussing about himself, in the background he was being spied on by Polonius who is Ophelia dad, and King Claudius, his uncle. Lately Hamlet has been acting insane towards the family and they wonder why he acted like that. They all thought it was love sick towards Ophelia. The King agrees with Polonius towards his craziness. Ophelia is confused about his craziness, although Hamlet being the love of her life she wants to help him out. In the video there are so many different scenarios going on.
In the first movie the video is exactly like the book it follows word by word. He is actually in the talking to himself in front of a mirror he has his back towards the camera and faced the mirror. As he questions himself about living he grabs a dagger from his pants hold out to the mirror as if he is actually going to commit suicide. He lightly taps the mirror with the dagger. Maybe as a stabbing motion he taps the mirror to see how would live be without him. He slowly put the dagger away. As Ophelia comes in the room, he is happily to see her. When that all changes.
In the second video was very strange. Hamlet is deeply thinking about Ophelia and a dead person. The dead person is Hamlet father he is heavily thinking about him, it showed strange music in the background. Then it showed a hamlet kissing a dead person. To show respect or to show how much he misses him. Hamlet goes off saying more about his speech and it is another flash back to show the Queen and Ophelia. Then as he says more of what is better then living here or the dead world he. There’s another flashback going off, everyone paying their respect to the King and kissing him to the mouth. The camera doesn’t show hamlet whole face it cut in half. And there is no background there is only light shining through blindly, nothing to see. The camera zooms in more and more to his eye to show his depth in how he thinks if he should live or not. Then again it shows the queen kissing the late king. Then the next scene it shows him dead and Ophelia kissing him. That clip of Hamlet famous line is very interesting, not only has it had his speech it some art in there. It had more vision then what it had then the first clip of Hamlet.
In the third clip it shows ocean then it zooms in Hamlet dead. As if they are watching through Hamlet eyes. He goes on off telling about his speech then he pulls off his dagger from is pocket and question life again. He teases the knife around back and forth. Then he just throws it off the ocean. Ending the scene. This really wasn’t all that great of a play he had to be inside of the house in order for he can talk to Ophelia for the next scene, clip two didn’t really showed where he was he was just recording his own speech then off. Then this one was apparently outside which wasn’t really good.
